Amsterdam is the largest city in the Netherlands and is full of opportunities for shopping and relaxation. Amsterdam is well known for its famous music, fine arts and night life. Amsterdam has been awarded the title of the Best city centre in the Netherlands and has many museums as well as a vast array of shops ranging from main-stream shops to small, privately-owned ones. Amsterdam is located in the province of North Holland in the west of the country. Its eclectic blend of culture and architecture distinguish this capital city and makes it truly fascinating to visit.

  • Cultuurpark Westergasfabriek (Culture park): located in Haarlemmerweg, Cultuurpark Westergasfabriek is a stylish complex of industrial architecture that contains a film theatre, restaurants and catering establishments for fine winning and dinning. There is also a park of 14 hectares; during the winter the park is transformed in a winterparade with theatre, music, dance and film. There is also an Affordable Art Fair in the cultural park.
  • Flower market: since 1862 the flower market is a floating market that runs in one of Amsterdam's canals. It contains a huge variety of flowers and it is Holland best-known market. The market is open Monday to Fridays from 9am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 9am till 5pm.
  • Heineken Experience: with attractions such as a mini brewery, a tasting bar, a stable with Heineken's famous Shire horses, and a "be a brewer simulator" the world of Heineken is a fun place to visit and receives over 300.000 fans every year. You can also take a tour around the Heineken complex, the tour takes around 90 minutes and 2 drinks are included.

Amsterdam airport is the main airport in the Netherlands and the third largest airport in Europe. One of Netherlands most modern airports Amsterdam is also the only airport with a large traffic of helicopter. Amsterdam airport receives more than 50 million people every year.

The airport has luggage lockers available. It has also a bank, a bureau de change, and several ATM's cash points inside the airport. There are also a variety of shops including duty-free stores and newsagents. There is a cafeteria and Wi-Fi connection is available throughout the airport. There is also two tourist information desk where is possible to obtain maps, directions and overall information about the city. Car Hire companies include Avis, Europcar and Hertz.

It is possible to catch a bus from the airport to vary destinations. There are lines that work during night time bus mostly they operate from early in the morning until late in the evening. For more information please call +31 09009292

By Train
For connections to Spain, the nearest train station is in Almeria city centre, however there is no rail connection to the airport.

By Car
Amsterdam Airport is fairly easy to access by car. You can find a journey planner Long and Short-term parking are available at the airport.
