Nice it is a beautiful city and is the capital of the Riviera region in France. Nice is one of the oldest human settlements in the world and nowadays, Nice hosts one of France's most vibrant social and cultural scenes. Nice has the benefit of a Mediterranean climate with mild temperatures throughout the year. Nice also offers beautiful beaches around the coast. With artistic treasures, countless attractions, distinctive cuisine, wonderful climate and magnificent settings Nice is the place to be all year around.

  • Chateau: this beautiful castle was built in 1706 and still remains most of its original character. From the top of the hill where the castle stands there is a beautiful view of the city.
  • Place Garibaldi: In the old town of Nice it is possible to visit this beautiful square built around the 17th century in the Baroque style, the square leads to some of the main streets in Nice so definitely worth a stroll.
  • Monastery: this exquisite church built in the Gothic style inside the church there is a museum that shows the life of the Franciscans in Nice from the 13th to the 18th.

Nice airport is the entrance to the Côte d'Azur. The airport is the third busiest and biggest airport in France and receives more than 9 million passengers flying to over 180 destinations every year.

Nice airport is positioned 7 km (4 mi) west of the city centre.

Facilities at Nice Airport include a wide range of shops, tax and duty-free stores offering a large selection of goods. There is also a vast choice of bars and restaurants as well as food outlets in the airport. There is also an international currency exchange and a bureau de change. There are also several car rental companies including Avis, Budget, Europcar and Hertz.

To and from the airport

By Taxi
There are taxis available outside the terminals 1 and 2. The day rate is around €2/km and the minimal fare is €6.00. The journey from the airport to the city centre takes around 20 min.

By Bus
There are local and regional buses that run every day from Manchester airport, there is also a 24 hour option, more information can be found in the information desk at the airport. A 7 days unlimited pass to all buses in Nice cost around €15.00

By Train
There are regular trains available from the train station 15 minutes walk from the airport. For time tables and further information please check www.ter.sncf.com/paca

By Car
The airport is located off D6098 motorway has its own approach road. There are signs directing to the airport throughout the motorways including A8 and N99. Nice airport has short and long-stay parking options.
